So we're legit in a Pokémon world of some kind here, aren't we.
Or at least, the fact that this fucking bird won't leave me the hell alone is leading me to think as much.
Are they typically this dumb? It's been years since I played any of these games, I don't even know what the hell it is.

[He clicks the video option and it focuses on a skinny blonde teenager covered in freckles, wearing a pair of stupid triangular shades with his hair gelled into an impossible style that is currently being partially destroyed by his newfound Wingull. Dirk looks entirely less than pleased.]

Hee! Well of course I am, silly, he was my grandpa in my universe, but you know him as someone about your age, right? Have you met John yet, because he has probably already brought up the words "ectobiology" given he was the conductor of babies in our whole session.

[She's very nonchalant about it.]

Technically, Jake and Jane are my ectobiological mom and dad and John is my ectobiological twin brother!

So you're a science baby that looks like what would happen if Jake and Jane did the nasty, and so's blue-eyes over there. Gotcha. That's fuckin' terrifying.

Yes, that is him. Do you really think it's terrifying? [She kind of adjusts her glasses and brushes her hair away, almost like she can diminish any terrifying attributes by fixing herself up.] Hmm...I suppose it's not so weird to me anymore, I've had three years to adjust to the news. Jake was my pen pal for quite a while, so I got used to him saying that he was my grandson too.

But--talking about what's going on with our session is boring, isn't it? I mean unless you wanted to ask me something else about it? I don't know, what do you want to know right now?

The concept of Jake breeding in any capacity is terrifying. The fact that you're not actually a product of sexual intercourse makes it way less unnerving. Paradox slime clone babies I can handle. Jake actually knocking somebody up is the basis of several nightmares in my future.

[A slight shrug.] I guess you could start with what you know about the whole Pokémon thing. I mean, this doesn't feel like a dream bubble.

Yeah...I love Jake and all, but it is pretty clear all he contributed to me is green eyes and black hair.

[But then again Jane also has black hair so that seems a mite silly to say.]

Okay! I only played the games a little and mostly watched the cartoon, so I am still learning some things myself, but the biggest thing you might notice if you are familiar with Pokemon is there are not just 150 anymore! Actually, there might even be upwards of 500 at this point! I think the one you have there is one of the newer ones... It's a Water plus Flying type called Wingull...it's based off a seagull, get it?

Anyway, the same rules as in the games applies, if you are a trainer you go around collecting badges from Gym leaders and catching Pokemons to raise. It's also how you get the best moves like Fly and stuff, since they don't sell the HMs in stores. Also all your ultra-cool abilities in your own world are gone, like my witchy Space powers and John's heiry...Breathness, and you can't have weapons here at all. I have the feeling that this is all a program that we've been put into, but I still need to gather enough data to confirm.

Jake's hair is a bit browner than yours. Possibly sunbleached. [He frowns, stopping himself from comparing the two further. He is not going to sit here and detail the differences between his ex and his ex's paradox ghost slime grandmother-daughter. Nope.]

[He looks up at his Wingull and nods, frowning a touch.] Seagull, yeah. Seeing that.

[The only part of that that seems to really unsettle him is the lack of allowance to carry a weapon. Otherwise it seems business as usual, and he played a few of the older games on emulators back in the day. Shifting his shoulders, he reaches up to smooth the pad of one finger over the Wingull's head.] Guess I'd better get used to this guy, then. What sort of program are you thinking?

[Don't mind her, she's just taking a lock of her hair to stare at it for a moment. Huh. It would make sense for Jake to be outside more than her, he's always talking about adventuring and such.]

What I mean is, like I think we've been deposited directly into the game, some new version of the Pokemons that a few of us know already. I'm not sure why, so many people here, who's the protagonist in everything? But a few other people I have met have been questioning or realizing that the nature of this world seems awfully "scripted." Glitches have even happened as well. Heck, there's one guy here that actually is from a video game in his own world.
