So we're legit in a Pokémon world of some kind here, aren't we.
Or at least, the fact that this fucking bird won't leave me the hell alone is leading me to think as much.
Are they typically this dumb? It's been years since I played any of these games, I don't even know what the hell it is.

Uh.

[He clicks the video option and it focuses on a skinny blonde teenager covered in freckles, wearing a pair of stupid triangular shades with his hair gelled into an impossible style that is currently being partially destroyed by his newfound Wingull. Dirk looks entirely less than pleased.]

[In all honesty Dirk's probably familiar with Kingdom Hearts. But I can't see him being a guy to pop someone's bubble and mention them being from a game-- maybe mention "something similar". But either way he just grins.]

Play island? Sounds pretty sweet, dude. I lived on sort-of an island, myself.

Well it was an apartment building, sort of made into an island because most of the planet was covered in water. So it was like an island 'cause it was all that really stuck up out of the water.

I'm from a post-apocalyptic future wherein me and my friend Roxy are the only two humans left alive. It's... sort of a long story.

I don't get it... Like, I understand there are different worlds and each one has its own rules and stories.

But why are there so many sad ones.

The unfortunate thing is that every world is gonna have its hardships. I'm sure mine was plenty happy and fun and shit before everybody died because of an alien tyrant. We pretty much destroyed the planet in favor of playing this game that'll let us create a new one anyway, so maybe it'll be happier again then.

Well, the point of this game is that we have to destroy one to create another. Basically the first one was pretty messed up to begin with, so...

...Well okay that's not the point of the game, but. We're still creating a new one, so the doomed state of the previous one doesn't much matter anymore.
